சுப்ரமணிய பாரதி (December 11, 1882 - September 11, 1921)
Bharathi was a great Poet, Independence fighter and Reformer.He has written so many revolutionary books which would be worshiped in Tamil Nadu forever. His wittings were so beautiful in form of prose and poetry.
Early Life :
Our Bharathi was born to chinnaswami subramania Iyer and Lakshmi ammal. He was educated in Ettayapuram (Birth place of Maha Kavi) high School called "The M.D.T.Hindu College".
He learnt music at his very early age when no one knows that his learning would fire the people to change the fate of Indian History. Day by day as he grew, his thirst for literacy increased and he began to use his skills in upbringing the people of poverty who were not allowed to enter temples and were used as "dasi". Bharathi wanted a environment where there is no discrimination about caste, religion, race etc. Till his period in earth he failed to achieve the same but today there are lots of improvement in society.

Bharathi's strong nationalistic sense may be illustrated by this:
- ஆயிரம் உண்டிங்கு சாதி, எனில் அன்னியர் வந்து புகலென்ன நீதி!
- We may have thousand of sects; that, however, does not justify a foreign invasion.
